Just some random weirdness I have found in this weekend.
It started on Friday afternoon at Spencer Street Station.
I saw the usual N set on platform 3, and a push-pull H set on platform 4. However, the H set was off to Geelong, and the N off to Bacchus Marsh – the reverse to normal.
It probably doesn’t mean much to you, but it was a strange thing to me. Anyhow, I got on the train that said it was going to Geelong. It rolled out at the correct time, abet with the doors still open. It wasn’t until half way down the platform that they closed. (the conductor is supposed to flick the switch before we leave)
Things still didn’t feel "right" – it was pissing down rain outside, the carriage was really empty, and there were a bunch of bogan teens sitting down the opposite end of the carriage. You usually never see them at that time of day. It didn’t seem like I was heading home. Due to the gutless P class locos up front, the extra long train, and the max speed of 100km/h it took ages to get to Geelong as well. It turned out the reason the train was different was the footy – Geelong was playing at the MCG.
Then today, I was watching TV. There was a "Top 50 from 1987" on. I was alive then. That was almost two decades ago. I guess I am getting old.
And finally. I was watching 60 Minutes, then turned off the TV and went on the computer. The clock said 7:40. 60 Minutes usually starts at 7:30. Where did that hour come from? Time dilation? It turns out it was on early because of the Logies. Stupid logies…
Hah, I was born right at the end of 1987…two days before NYE, in fact. 😛
